Italian conductor Demetrio Moricca is the Music and Artistic Director of the MuSa Classica Orchestra at Sapienza University of Rome and, since 2023, the Music Director of the "Musica Libera Tutti" social orchestra in Scampia (Naples), a project inspired by the El Sistema model.

His international career gained significant momentum with his 2021 debut at Tokyo Opera City Hall. Since then, he has become a regular guest in Japan, leading acclaimed staged productions and galas at prestigious venues such as Bunkamura Orchard Hall and Shibuya Cultural Center Owada. He has collaborated with world-renowned soloists, including tenor Stefan Pop and soprano Hiromi Omura, and conducted orchestras such as the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Philharmonia Tokyo, and the Malta Philharmonic.

A finalist of the 2023 Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy, Moricca has been mentored by some of the greatest masters of the Italian tradition, including Nello Santi and Sesto Quatrini. He has been praised by critics and mentors alike for his "high level of musical intelligence" and his "composed gesture and natural ability to accompany singers."

Moricca’s repertoire spans from the core Italian operatic tradition to the symphonic masterpieces of the 19th and 20th centuries. He is also particularly dedicated to the rediscovery of the 18th-century Neapolitan school, having recently conducted rare staged productions of works by Niccolò Jommelli and Giovanni Paisiello.
